Harlan Coben (created January 4, 1962) is an American writer of mystery novels and thrillers. The plots of his novels generally include the resurfacing of open or misinterpreted occasions in the past (including homicides, fatal accidents, etc.) and frequently have multiple plot twists. Both collection of Coben’s novels are set in and around New York and New Jersey, and a few of the supporting characters in the two collection have appeared in both.
While studying political science at Amherst College, he was a part of Psi Upsilon fraternity with writer Dan Brown. After Amherst, Coben worked in the travel business, in a business owned by his grandpa. He now lives in Ridgewood, New Jersey along with his own wife, Anne Armstrong-Coben MD, a pediatrician, as well as their four kids. Coben was in his senior year at school when he realized he wished to compose. His first novel was accepted when he was twenty six but after releasing two standalone thrillers in the 1990s (Play Dead in 1990 and Miracle Cure in 1991) he determined on a change of direction and started a number of thrillers featuring his character Myron Bolitar. The novels of the favorite show obey the stories of a former basketball player turned sports agent (Bolitar), who frequently finds himself investigating homicides involving his customers. He composed a short story titled “The Key to my Dad,” which appeared June 15, 2003. Film director Guillaume Canet made the novel right into a French thriller, Ne le dis personne in 2006. Coben followed Tell No One with nine more standalone novels. Now, his latest novel is Six Years, and his upcoming novel Missing you’ll expect publication in 2014.
