He’s best known as trainer of the Miami Dolphins, the team he led to two Super Bowl victories, also to the National Football League’s only perfect season. Shula was named 1993 Sportsman of the Year by “Sports Illustrated”. He now holds the NFL record for most career wins with 347. Shula just had two losing seasons in his 36-year career of training in the NFL. He’s been head coach to get a record six Super Bowls. In his first, he set the record for the longest interval to be shut out (not scoring until 3:19 staying). His next Super Bowl he set the record for the cheapest points by any team (with just one field goal). As of 2013, Shula’s three Super Bowl records and complete NFL triumphs stay unbroken.

For all his success, the Dolphins’ January, 1974 Super Bowl triumph over the Minnesota Vikings proved to be Shula’s last tournament. Despite consistent success in the normal season, Shula was not able to win in the post-season, neglecting in 12 trips to the playoffs—including two more Super Bowl appearances—before retiring after the 1995 season. His retirement following that regular season ended among the best training heritages in NFL history. Shula had a 2-4 record in his six Super Bowl appearances. The next season the Dolphins had the opportunity to win a third title in 3 years, but the Dolphins fell to the Oakland Raiders 28-26, within an AFC divisional playoff game in among the popular playoff games ever played. With 35 seconds remaining in the match, Ken Stabler was in the procedure for being terminated by Vern Den Herder. Just before he was tackled, he threw a completed despair forward pass to his running back Clarence Davis in the match’s final minutes, as well as in doing so ended Miami’s 2-year dominance. The Dolphin franchise hasn’t been in a position to duplicate the success of 197174.
