Janet Evanovich immediately determined that she wished to compose romantic adventure novels. Unlike the kind of romance novels, her publications will be told in first person narrative. Her new form of writing should include heroes and heroines, together with “a feeling of family and community.” For the reason that vein, she thought her new type of writing to be on the basis of the TV situation comedy version. Like Seinfeld, her new publications might have a fundamental character the remaining cast of characters revolve around. Inspired by the Robert De Niro film Midnight Run, Evanovich determined that her heroine would have been a bounty hunter. This profession supplied more independence for Evanovich as a writer, as bounty hunters would not have a set work schedule and will not be compelled to put on a uniform. The profession is also “romanticised to some extent.” To become familiar with all the demands of the vocation, Janet Evanovich spent a lot of time shadowing bond enforcement representatives. She also studied more about town of Trenton, where Janet Evanovich needed her novels to be set. In 1994, her first amorous experience, One for the Money, was released to great reviews. This is the first of a lighthearted number of mysteries starring just capable bounty hunter Stephanie Plum.
