Sir Hew Francis Anthony Strachan LL FRSE FRHistS (born 1 September 1949) is a Scottish military historian, well known for his work on the administration of the British Army and the history of the First World War. He is Chichele Professor of the History of War at All Souls College, Oxford, a brigadier of reserves, and a council member of the Royal Company of Archers, the Queen's Bodyguard for Scotland.Since May 2014 he has been Lord Lieutenant of Tweeddale.

He was awarded the DL before being awarded Knight Bachelor of the Order of the British Empire in the 2013 Queen's New Years Honours list for his services to the Ministry of Defense. He is the Chchele Professor of the History of War at All Souls College at Oxford University in Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.
