Pratt was born in La, California the oldest of five kids of Kecia Pratt-McCullar, a schoolteacher, and Johnny McCullar, a semiprofessional basketball player. Pratt gave birth to your daughter, Lyric Kai Kirkpatrick, on November 17, 2010. Most recently, she welcomed another daughter, Liyah Kirkpatrick in August of 2013. Lyric and Liyah’s dad is Danny “KP” Kirkpatrick, a songwriter, hip-hop artist, and well known tattoo artist. Kyla says “I ‘m getting married although not yet, the best thing about my relationship [with rapper Danny Kirkpatrick a.k.a. Compton] is that we’re both on the same page.” In 2001, she won the part of Breanna Barnes in the UPN show One on One (2001–2006). She also voiced the character for The Proud Family Movie in 2005. As well as television characters, Pratt has additionally appeared in a number of feature films including Love & Basketball (2000) and Fat Albert (2004). In 2009, Kyla Pratt costarred along Emma Roberts and Jake T. Austin in Hotel for Dogs. Pratt joined the cast of BET’s Let’s Stay Together in its second season. In February 2014, Pratt was voted #97 on VH1’s 100 Greatest Child Stars. In June 2014 she filmed an ABC Family pilot called Recovery Road based on Blake Nelson’s homonym novel, where she plays a title role alongside Samantha Logan.
