Earl Brown was born on December 25, 1928 in Salt Lake City, Utah, USA as Walter Earl Brown. He is known for his work on Elvis (1968), Thumbelina (1994) and The Sonny and Cher Show (1976). He died on January 10, 2008 in Sherman Oaks, California, USA.
Over the years as Musical Director, he won accolades composing special musical material for the long running "Dinah Shore Chevy Show"(1956-63) as well as " The Sonny and Cher Show ", "Donny and Marie" and other weekly variety shows.

As Musical Director of the 1968 "Elvis" TV Special, on short notice, during the week of taping, he composed "If I Can Dream", Elvis' closing number for the show, as well as Elvis' first million selling single in over 3 years.
