Alfred Sandor (November 5, 1918 – September 22, 1983) was an Hungarian-born American character actor, who became a resident and actor in Australia during his later years). He appeared on the Phil Silvers show and played Sheriff George Patterson one time on an episode of Dark Shadows in 1968, he had a background as a ringmaster as a circus performer. He appeared as an actor of theatre in Neil Simons the Odd Couple, and appeared on many television series and appeared in the film The Return of Captain InvincibleHe became best known for his long-running role as the "dandy" surgeon, Raymond Shaw in the Australian television soap opera The Young Doctors. An original cast member of the serial, he continued in the role for five years, leaving the show through ill health, shortly before it was cancelled in 1982. The show also became popular in the United Kingdom.He died from lung cancer.
