Kurt Meisel (18 August 1912 – 4 April 1994) was an Austrian actor and film director. He appeared in 65 films between 1934 and 1994. He also directed 21 films between 1949 and 1984. Meisel was married to the actress Ursula Lingen. He was born and died in Vienna, Austria, and is buried on the Vienna Zentralfriedhof.
Kurt Meisel started a second career as a director after the war but he continued working as an actor as well.

Kurt Meisel was Oberspielleiter of the Munich Staatsschauspiel, after that director an the Wiener Burgtheater. Finally he took over the directorship of the Bayerisches Staatsschauspiel München from 1972 to 1983.

His activity dropped slowly off in the 60's yet he took part in some interesting movies. To these movies belong "The Longest Day" (1962), "Michael Kohlhaas - der Rebell" (1969), the serial "Der Kurier des Zaren" (1970), and "The Odessa File" (1974).

He began as an unpaid trainee at the Viennese Volkstheater. In 1933 he made his theater debut in Munich with Sheakespeare's "Wie es euch gefällt".
