Born and raised in Coventry, Rhode Island, Peter Frechette earned a B.F.A. in Theater from the University of Rhode Island before moving to New York City to pursue acting there on stage. He earned Tony Award nominations for his performances in the play Eastern Standard which played on Broadway, and the off-Broadway production of Our Country's Good....
He was awarded the 1986 Drama Logue Award for Outstanding Performance for "In Dreams Begin Responsibilities," in a Sundays at the Itchey Foot production at the Mark Taper Forum Theatre in Los Angeles, California.

He is performing on Broadway as Roy in the Odd Couple with Nathan Lane, Matthew Broderick, Brad Garrett, Rob Bartlett, Lee Wilkof, Olivia d'Abo, Jessica Stone. Brad Garret will be replaced by Mike Starr. The remaining cast will continue the run until June 4th '06. [October 2005]
