Susan Hilferty is an American costume designer for theatre, opera, and film. She received the 2001 Obie Award for Sustained Excellence in Costume Design.Hilferty's Broadway credits include the costumes for Wicked (Tony, Drama Desk, and Outer Critics Circle awards), Lestat (Tony nomination), Spring Awakening (Tony nomination), Radio Golf, Assassins, the revival of Into the Woods (Tony nomination, Hewes Award), Jitney, Dirty Blonde, and How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying.Hilferty has collaborated often with playwright Athol Fugard and has designed for the New York Shakespeare Festival, Manhattan Theatre Club, Second Stage, New York Theatre Workshop, Brooklyn Academy of Music, Lincoln Center Theater, Playwrights Horizons, Classic Stage Company, and the Roundabout.
