During his time with the Jay Leno show, Don often played on camera in the various sketches. Mostly he was seen as one of the jurors in the many skits about the O.J. Simpson trial.

Don is an accomplished musician, bandleader, and drummer. He has his own big band (the SRO Big Band) and has toured the United States and Canada playing with pianist Earl Rose and appeared with symphony orchestras. Besides playing at parties given by Frank Sinatra and Johnny Carson, Don often played along with Ray Charles.
