Gay Search is a British television presenter perhaps best known for her work on the BBC television series Gardeners' World with the late Geoff Hamilton and for the groundbreaking series Front Gardens. She has devised and hosted gardening shows for BBC Two since 1988. She worked as gardening editor for Sainsbury magazine for 13 years and is the author of many gardening books, including:Front GardensGardening from ScratchGardening without a gardenDelia's Kitchen Garden, written in collaboration with her old friend Delia SMITH.She is also patron of the British Thyroid Foundation.
Daughter of Bill and Ruth Search, who were the subject of a play and television movie written by Hugh Whitemore titled, "Pack Of Lies." The Searches befriended a married couple in Riuslip, UK who were, in actuality, spies for the KGB/USSR. The spies assumed names were Peter and Helen Kroger although their true names were Morris and Lona Cohen. During 1961, the British CIA imposed themselves on the Searches' household to perform surveillance on the "Krogers" who rented a bungalow across the street, eventually arresting the spies for espionage. It wasn't until the surveillance that anyone knew the Kroger's true identity.
