His final credit, 1961's A Raisin in the Sun, was selected for preservation in the United States of America National Film Registry by the Library of Congress as being "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant" in 2005.He also assisted, although uncredited, on the direction of Star Spangled Rhythm in 1945 and Vendetta in 1950.
