Scott Allen Capurro (born December 10, 1962) is an American comedian, writer and actor based in San Francisco. His comedy material is deliberately provocative, referring often to gay life and culture, politics, race and racism, and popular culture. "I don't give a shit about those who don't like my work," he snaps. "I'm never going to win them over anyway, so why bother? My work is for a discerning audience who don't have knee-jerk responses." — Interview with Veronica Lee, The Evening Standard, November 6, 2000
[on a mother who outraged host Matthew Wright on The Wright Stuff (2000) when she said she didn't want her child taught about homosexuals at school] As a comic, you can't take anything personally, and as a gay man growing up, believe me, in times when it wasn't so popular, you just can't take it personally.

Doctor Who (2005) has a very large gay following. I'm not a fan but every gay Englishman I know has stacks of videos of the entire series at home and they watch religiously. That's because they think that the Doctor is gay. They've always assumed he was. An outcast.
