Alan Hume was born on October 16, 1924 in London, England as George Alan Hume. He is known for his work on Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi (1983), A Fish Called Wanda (1988) and For Your Eyes Only (1981). He was married to Sheila Hume. 1Prolific British cinematographer, in films as a clapper boy with Korda's Denham Studios from 1942. Chief camera operator with Cineguild in the 1950's, graduating to full cinematographer.Lensed three James Bond films and almost all of the "Carry Ons".
2Served with the Royal Navy and Fleet Air Arm photographic unit during the Second World War.
3Elected to the British Society of Cinematographers in 1964, serving as its president for three years.

Also, Alan's daughter-in-law Zlata (Martin's wife), is Studio Manager at Beaconsfield Film School.
