Lani McIntire (sometimes spelled Lani McIntyre, 15 December 1904 - 17 June 1951) was a Hawaiian guitar and steel guitar player who helped to popularize the instrument, which eventually became a mainstay in American country and western music. He played frequently with his brothers — steel guitar legend Dick McIntire and bassist Al McIntire.
Hawaiian-born steel guitarist and leader of 'His Aloha Islanders', who performed for years at the Hawaiian Grill of the Hotel Lexington in New York. He was chiefly responsible for popularising the steel guitar in America and for introducing the Hawaiian guitar sound. He is also remembered for working with Bing Crosby on "Sweet Leilani", featured in the film Waikiki Wedding (1937).
