Rosamunde Pilcher, OBE (née Scott; born 22 September 1924) is a British author of romance novels and mainstream women's fiction since 1949. Early in her career she was also published under the pen name Jane Fraser. She retired from writing in 2000. Her son is the writer Robin Pilcher.
As more than 70 of her novels were made into TV movies by network ZDF, she has been very popular in Germany.

Awarded the 2002 British Tourism Award together with Claus Beling, programme director of German network ZDF, for the positive effect her books and the TV movies had on tourism.

Resides in Dundee, Scotland.

She was awarded the O.B.E. (Officer of the Order of the British Empire) in the 2002 Queen's New Years Honours List for her services to Literature.
