Diane Martine James (born 20 November 1959) is one of four UKIP Members of the European Parliament for South East England, and a Councillor on Waverley Borough Council.She was educated at Rochester Grammar School and Thames Valley University. She previously worked in the healthcare sector for more than 30 years, setting up her own international consultancy business. She came second in the Eastleigh by-election, 2013 receiving 27.8% of the vote, an increase of 24.2% on the 2010 figure. She was elected to the European Parliament in 2014.She is a prominent spokesman for the party and has represented UKIP on various TV programmes, including the BBC's Question Time, and has taken part in debates at the Cambridge Union Society.
