Seether is a South African post-grunge/alternative metal band founded in 1999 in Pretoria. The band was originally formed under the name "Saron Gas" until renaming it to "Seether" in 2002. Disclaimer is their original album and major label debut. They gained mainstream popularity in 2002 with their US Active Rock #1 single "Fine Again," and their success was sustained in 2004 with the single "Broken" which peaked at No. 20 on the Billboard Hot 100. They have experienced continued success with #1 hits on the Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks chart such as "Remedy", "Fake It", and "Country Song".
Members are Shaun Morgan (vocals, guitar), Dale Stewart (bass, vocals) and John Humphrey (drums).

Seether just finished a USA and European tour with label mates Evanescence, and have a European Headlining tour later this year. [September 2004]

Seether's most recent CD release was Finding Beauty in Negative Spaces. The release date was October 23, 2007. They have since toured with Nickelback and are currently taking a break to construct new material. [2009]

The original name of Seether was "Saron Gas". They picked this name when they were only known in South Africa after reading it on a Sound Effects cd. They changed the name before moving to the USA and joining Wind-up records due to the nature of the name.
