Evelyn Venable (October 18, 1913 – November 15, 1993) was an American actress. In addition to starring in several films in the 1930s and 1940s, she is notable as the voice and model for the Blue Fairy in Walt Disney's Pinocchio. She was the first ever Columbia Pictures Torch Lady and its model.For her work in motion pictures, Venable has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame at 1500 Vine Street.
I've seen so many Hollywood families come apart because of the mother's career. I never regretted leaving films. If I have any regrets at all it is in leaving the stage. I might have been a really good actress. There simply was no chance in most of my pictures nor was I getting the proper training.

For years it was believed that her father was so strict that he had it written into her Hollywood contract that there would be no kissing scenes in her films, and, indeed, she does not have any kissing scenes in her most famous films--Death Takes a Holiday (1934) and Pinocchio (1940) (in which she is the voice of the Blue Fairy). However, the rumor was apparently not true.
