Shawn Patterson is an Academy Award and Grammy nominated composer, songwriter and music producer, having penned eclectic songs and striking underscore for hit TV shows and films in Los Angeles for years. I love composing to picture long or short - animated or otherwise - as long as the story is decent and the characters draw you into them. If the story is good - it doesn't matter if it's a children's pop up book or finger puppets.

When Patterson finished writing the hit song, "Everything Is Awesome" for The Lego Movie (for which he received an Academy Award nomination), Shawn intended to have rappers Snoop Dogg and Ice T perform his rap lyrics on the soundtrack. However, the film's directors brought in "The Lonely Island"; who altered some of Patterson's existing rap lyrics and performed on the soundtrack instead.
