1Distinguished American TV producer, frequently concerned with social issues (and as often at odds with censors and programmers). He began his career as a designer of scenery for stage and screen and entered television as a set designer for CBS in the early 1950's.
2Founded and served as president of Plautus Productions in 1959. With producer Robert Berger, he founded Titus Productions in 1965.
3Graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in drama from the University of Michigan in 1934 and a Master of Fine Arts in directing and set design at the Yale School of Drama.
4Inductee into the Television Academy Hall of Fame in 1999.
