Amani Toomer (born September 8, 1974) is a retired American football wide receiver who played in the National Football League. He played college football at Michigan, where he was a fan favorite. He was drafted in the second round of the 1996 NFL Draft by the New York Giants.Toomer earned a Super Bowl ring with the Giants in Super Bowl XLII.

After a decent 2004 campaign, he rebounded to have a solid 2005 season. With new starting quarterback Eli Manning throwing for almost 3,800 passing yards, he notched 60 receptions for almost 800 yards. The highlights of his season included a last second touchdown reception against the Denver Broncos, a late game-tying touchdown at Seattle, and a terrific fourth and goal catch for a touchdown against the Rams. After the Giants were eliminated in the post-season, he hinted that 2006 will probably be the final season for the overachieving wide receiver.

Born Amani (pronounced ah-MAH-NEE) Toomer on Sept. 8, 1974 in Berkeley, California. In 1996, his rookie year, Toomer scored on an 87-yard punt return vs. Buffalo (9/1), the longest punt return in Giants history.

He also has donated his time and made personal appearances to support numerous fund raising efforts in the New York area including: the Kids for Kids Celebrity carnival to benefit the Pediatric AIDS foundation, the annual "Meet the Giants" Event to benefit the Ronald McDonald House of New York City, The Gift of New York benefit this past February and Toys for Sick Kids Foundation benefit party. In 2001, visited Stuyvesant High School, which is in Manhattan and just a few blocks from Ground Zero and spoke to the students about focusing on school and remaining positive after the attacks of September 11th.

Was selected as the Giants 2003 Man of the Year for his charitable endeavors. He was Honored by the United Way of NYC for his community involvement during the 2002 season. He created the Amani Toomer Foundation and an extension of the foundation, the Toomer Urban Recreation Fund (T.U.R.F.) to support after school programs.

No one else in team history has as many as 6,000. in 2002, Had the finest season by a wide receiver in Giants history. He Set franchise records with 82 receptions for 1,343 yards and established a career-high with 8 touchdown catches.
