Marla Maples (created October 27, 1963) is an American actress, television personality, and socialite, famous for her marriage to businessman star Donald Trump. She’s a distant cousin of actress Heather Locklear. Maples in secret dated Donald Trump for almost two years beginning 1986 while Trump was still married to Ivana Trump. The matter was found by Ivana in 1991, when she encountered Maples on a ski slope in Aspen, Colorado. The spat was nicely chronicled by the media and led to Ivana filing for divorce from Donald Trump. Maples went to star in the Broadway production of The Will Rogers Follies, where she played “Ziegfield’s favorite,” the girlfriend of showman, Florenz Ziegfeld. In 1993, Donald Trump married Marla Maples and together they had one kid, Tiffany Trump (born October 13, 1993). In 1996 and 1997 Maples hosted both the Miss U.S.A. and Miss Universe pageants for two straight years. Maples has made many appearances in TV shows along with a few movie cameos. Two of her cameos contain Executive Decision and Maximum Overdrive. She also appeared as an actress in the award winning 1998 Todd Solondz film Happiness as well as in the 1999 film Black and White. Marla Maples appeared as a star guest at WWF Wrestle Mania VII in 1991, as well as served as special guest timekeeper in the primary event match between Hulk Hogan and protecting WWF Champ Sgt. Slaughter. She guest starred in “Spin City” in 1997, as well as on The Nanny in 1999. She returned to The Big Apple in 2011 for “Love, Loss and What I Wore,” an off Broadway production. Lately Maples was featured on Oprah’s hit show “Where Are They Now?” She’s also in a brand new film coming out from Tyscot Films called “Switching Lanes” that’s set to be released mid June in 2013.
