Keith Murray (born September 13, 1974) is an American rapper as well as an associate of the hip hop trio Def Squad, which comprises fellow rappers Redman and Erick Sermon. Before Murray ever recorded an album, he fought Big Daddy Kane below the name MC Do Damage. Afterwards, he was introduced to Erick Sermon of EPMD by K Solo. Sermon contained Murray on his record No Pressure on the single “Hostile”. His first record, The Most Beautifullest Thing in This World, premiered in 1994 on Jive Records. The title track from this record stays Murray’s biggest solo hit. This record was given 4 mics by The Source. Murray continued to have a top media-profile by appearing on a Coca Cola ad and guesting on remixes of Mary J. Blige’s ‘Be Happy’, Total’s ‘Can Not You See’ and LL Cool J.’s ‘I Shot Ya’. Murray’s second record Enigma was launched in 1996 on Jive. It received similar ratings from critics, but it had not been quite as commercially successful as the last record. They’d after release their very own record, El Nio. Murray’s third record It Is a Beautiful Thing premiered in 1999. Murray also appeared on the tune “Home Alone” by R. Kelly. Def Jam released his He Is Keith Murray in 2003, featuring the single “Yeah, Yeah U Know It.” Murray dedicated “Christina” to his sister. Soon after this, Murray was accused of smacking an employee of Def Jam, and was later dropped. He released his fifth solo album Rap Murr Phobia on July 31, 2007.
