He founded the Vidal Sassoon International Center for the Study of Anti-Semitism at Hebrew University in Jerusalem, Israel. He was awarded the Magnes Award in recognition of his humanitarianism. He served as an Honorary Governor of the Hebrew University's International Board of Governors and as Honorary Vice President of the National American Friends of Hebrew University and as President Emeritus of American Friends of Hebrew University's Western Region.
