Leslie “Les” H. Wexner (created September 8, 1937) is an American businessman from New Albany, Ohio, and now chairman and CEO of the Limited Brands corporation. Wexner was created to Russian Jewish immigrants in Dayton, Ohio. He became a part of Sigma Alpha Mu fraternity. In 1963, Wexner borrowed $5,000 from his aunt to begin The Limited (thus named because the shop focused on clothes for younger girls, unlike his parents’ general merchandise shop). The Limited started its first shop in the Kingsdale Shopping Center in Upper Arlington. Wexner’s parents shut their shop one year after and joined their son at The Limited. Wexner took Limited Brands people in 1969, recorded as LTD on the NYSE. Wexner is the longest serving CEO of a Fortune 500 firm. Claims are made that Wexner’s The Limited Inc. has used slave labour both in the United States and abroad. These charges happen to be made especially against Victoria’s Secret which is a part of The Limited Inc. and possessed by Leslie Wexner.
