Dan Houser (born 1974) is an English gaming producer as well the co founder (along with his brother Sam) and vice president of imagination for Rockstar Games. In addition to making game titles, Houser has composed the majority of the “Grand Theft Auto” games since “London, 1969” together with the exception of “Progress”.
Houser was born in London, the Son of British attorney Walter Houser and celebrity Geraldine Moffat. Houser was educated at St Paul’s School in London and Oxford University. Growing up near a video library in London, they saw many American crime and cult movies and Spaghetti Westerns. Houser has said his favourite movie is Walter Hill’s The Warriors. In 1995, Houser got a part time occupation at BMG Interactive testing CDROMs although he was not a full time company until 1996. In 1998, Dan Houser left London and moved to The Big Apple along with his brother, where the Houser brothers founded Rockstar Games. Houser continues to be credited as a producer for five Grand Theft Auto games, as well as functions as a writer and voice artist for the show. Even with the high profile of the Grand Theft Auto series, Houser and his brother have shied from the star limelight, preferring to concentrate on the Rockstar Games brand as opposed to giving any one man the credit for the games’ success.
