Diller leave 20th Century Fox in 1992 and bought a $25 million stake in QVC teleshopping network. Diller subsequently started a bid to buy Paramount Communications, but lost it to Viacom. Diller stepped down from QVC in 1995. In 1997, Diller got the assets of Silver King Broadcasting, the collective group of over the air TV stations possessed by then Bud Paxson’s Home Shopping Network in addition to the Home Shopping Network itself.
