Alexander Gus Spanos (created September 28, 1923) is an American property developer and self made billionaire who founded the A. G. Spanos Companies and possesses the San Diego Chargers. His dad owned a bakery where the youthful Spanos began working in the age of eight. In 1951 he borrowed $800 from an area banker to get a truck which he subsequently used to sell sandwiches to migrant farm workers in the San Joaquin Valley. By 1955 he’d made his first million dollars. He invested his earnings in property and in the trace of his tax accountants, and began to construct flats. In 1960 he founded A.G. Spanos Companies, which by 1977 had became the biggest flat contractor in the United States. The corporation is located in Stockton and has 10 subsidiary companies.
