Michael Dalton "Mike" Allred is an American comic book artist and writer most famous for his independent comics creation, Madman. His style is often compared to pop art, as well as commercial and comic art of the 1950s and 1960s.
Announced at WonderCon 2006 in San Francisco that the screenplay for the "Madman" movie (written by George Huang) was complete. He added that he and Robert Rodriguez hoped to start shooting in 2006. [February 2006]

He and his wife are Latter-Day Saints (the faith erroneously referred to as "Mormons"). In 2005, he wrote and drew (with wife Laura doing colours) "The Golden Plates", a fully-illustrated adaptation of the Latter-Day Saint tome "The Book of Mormon". He insists that his comics are not subversive, but acknowledges that his faith influences all of his work.
