Plaxico Antonio Burress (created August 12, 1977), is an American football wide receiver who’s now a free agent. He was drafted by the Steelers eighth overall in the 2000 NFL Draft and later played for the New York Giants as well as the New York Jets (in 2011) before returning to the Steelers on November 21, 2012. He played college football at Michigan State.

Burress was suspended for the final four weeks of the season for conduct detrimental to the team and fined after accidentally shooting himself with an unlicensed gun he had in his waistband on 29 November 2008.
