Brenda Forbes (born 14 January 1909, Rochford, Essex, England, UK — died 11 September 1996, New York City, New York, U.S.) was an Anglo-American actress of stage and screen.Born as Brenda Evelyn Taylor in Rochford, Essex the daughter of E. J. Taylor and actress Mary Forbes (30 December 1879 — 22 July 1974) and the sister of actor Ralph Forbes (né Ralph Taylor; 1904-1951), she made her first film appearance in 1935 and her last in 1995. She appeared on Broadway between 1931 and 1985, mostly in revivals of classics.
She was nominated for a 1975 Joseph Jefferson Award for Best Actress in a Principal Role for her performance in "The Sea" at the Goodman Theatre in Chicago, Illinois.
