Daniel Way (created April 15, 1974) is an American professional skateboarder and business owner that is granted “Thrasher” magazine’s “Skater of the Year” award twice. He’s famous for extreme stunts, like leaping right into a skateboard ramp from a chopper, and initiating megaramps, including one that he used to bound the Great Wall of China on a skateboard.
Way came to be in Portland, Oregon, United States (U.S.). His youth was marred by challenging conditions. Following his dad’s departure, his mom Mary mistreated various drugs and dated several guys who mistreated Mary, Danny, and his brother Damon. The couple later divorced and Tim expired following a surfing session. Danny lost another adult in his life when his youth mentor Mike Ternasky perished in an automobile crash. Way was introduced in the H Street skateboard firm’s videos Shackle Me Not and Hokus Pokus and, soon after in 1991, co-founded the skateboard business Plan B, jointly with Mike Ternasky. The Plan B business was formed within the Dwindle Distribution firm, at that time supervised by Steve Rocco and Rodney Mullen, and, like Way, Ternasky was also previously with H Street, where he co-managed the business with Tony Magnusson. Ternasky, to the dismay of Magnusson, managed to convince numerous H Street team riders to step down and help with the development of the newest brand. Ternasky’s goal was to make a “super team” with riders like Way, Colin McKay, Mullen, Mike Carroll, Matt Hensley, and Rick Howard. That there was like a gossip that Plan B was possibly gonna return and that I believe it’d gotten around how much a devotee of it I was as a child.”
