Andre Ward Bio/Wiki, Net Worth, Married 2018
Andre Ward (born February 23, 1984) is an American professional fighter as well as the present WBA (Super) and “The Ring” super middleweight champ, and former WBC super-middleweight champ. Ward was a gold medalist in the 2004 Summer Olympics. Ward is rated as the #2 pound-for-pound fighter on the planet by Yahoo! Sports, Sports Illustrated, ESPN and “The Ring”.
Andre Ward got the better of Mikkel Kessler on November 21, 2009 for the WBA super middleweight tournament in the Super Six World Boxing Classic. Kessler was the powerful favorite going into Showtime’s Super Six tournament. The fight went to the scorecards and Ward was way ahead by scores of 98–92, 98–92 and 97–93 during the time of the stoppage. In January 2010 Jermain Taylor declared his departure from Showtime’s Super Six World Boxing Classic tournament. The Ring Top 10 rated super middleweight Allan Green was chosen as his replacement and challenged Andre Ward on June 19. Ward, defending the WBA super middleweight title, outclassed an adversary who spent most of the fight with his back from the ropes. Ward got the better of Green by unanimous decision on June 19, 2010. Though the 30-year old gamely fought on, the knockout he needed to win never seemed slightly likely and he looked a wasted guy by the end as he picked up the next loss of his 31-fight professional profession. Ward was exempt in the last preliminary battle in the Super Six because he’d already procured a number one status in the elimination rounds and his designated competition (Andre Dirrell) had dropped from the tournament. Fighting in the front of his hometown crowd within a double-site co-main event, Ward did not land many big shots but repeatedly strike Bika with a stinging left jab that the opposition was unable to counter. Ward won all 12 rounds on one judges scorecard and was ahead 118–110 to another two.
