Jacques Deray was born on February 19, 1929 in Lyon, Rhône, France as Jacques Desrayaud. He was a director and writer, known for La Piscine (1969), Borsalino (1970) and He Died with His Eyes Open (1985). He was married to Agnès Vincent-Deray. He died on August 9, 2003 in Boulogne-Billancourt, Hauts-de-Seine, France.
French writer-director of commercially successful crime thrillers. Began as an actor in his late teens and from 1952 worked as assistant to several noted directors, including Luis Bunuel and Jules Dassin. Directed his first film in 1960.
