Jeremiah Jennette Bio/Wiki, Net Worth, Married 2018
Jeremiah "Joe" Jeannette (also Jennette) (August 26, 1879 - July 2, 1958) is considered one of the best heavyweight boxers of the early 20th century. Because he was African-American, he was not given a shot at the world heavyweight title, though he did win the World Colored Heavyweight Championship.
One of the premier African American heavyweight boxers of the early Twentieth century, second only to Jack Johnson, whom he fought several times. Due to the racism of the period, he never was able to mount a challenge for the heavyweight crown. In a career stretching from 1904 to 1922, out of 166 documented fights, Jeanette had 106 wins, of which 68 were by knockout. He was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 1997.
