The main difference between acting and directing is that as a director you have to create and re-live every single character's life. As an actor you're only responsible for your own character. I guess that's why I love directing. It helps me understand human nature on a much wider scope and prevents me from being self centered.

Success to me, is knowing that I've done my best in everything I've set out to achieve. I don't measure success in trophies. And in reality the ultimate success is achieving fulfillment and joy in whatever we think and do and be at peace with ourselves. Now there's a task!

'My father suggested I became an opera singer but I thought it was highly unglamorous. Then it became apparent to me that acting combined all my artistic interests and was the perfect outlet for my creative expression.
