Frank Dillane (born on 21 April 1991 in London, England) is a British actor. He spent part of his childhood in Brixton before moving to Forest Row, East Sussex, where he grew up in a creative environment: his mother (Naomi Wirthner) manages a theatre company called Barebones Project while his father Stephen Dillane has played in numerous movies and TV series (Game of Thrones, The Tunnel) and was awarded a BAFTA TV Award for Best Actor on Television in 2009. Frank Dillane made his film debut at his side as an extra in Welcome to Sarajevo when he was six. He became more widely known in 2009 when he was chosen to play Tom Riddle Junior (a teenage Lord Voldemort) in Harry Potter & The Half-Blood Prince.Having passed his A-level examinations, Frank Dillane was accepted to the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) and graduated in 2013 with a Bachelor of Arts in Acting. In spite of the school rules specifying that actors are not permitted to accept professional acting work for the duration of the course, Frank was allowed to play James Papadopoulos in independent movie Papadopoulos & Sons (directed by Marcus Markou) since it was filmed during summer holidays in 2011. After he was cast, his father decided to rearrange his filming schedule to play Harry Papadopoulos (James' Dad) at his side. Stephen Dillane declared it was rare to have the opportunity "to work with your children after they left home".In the fall of 2013, Frank Dillane filmed In The Heart Of The Sea directed by Ron Howard. He plays young sailor Owen Coffin in this adaptation of a novel written by Nathaniel Philbrick about the sinking of the Essex whaleship in the Pacific Ocean. In early 2014, he was cast in two more films: a project directed by Gerardo Naranjo (name yet to be announced) in which he will star alongside Dakota Fanning; an adaptation of Peter Goldsworthy's best-selling novel Maestro, to be directed by Catherine Jarvis, in which he will play the lead character (Paul). Dillane is described by the production company Bow Street Films as having an "amazing talent and screen presence".

Quote
1
[on his role as Nick Clark in Fear the Walking Dead (2015)] I think it's important to distinguish that Nick isn't a drug addict, he's an addict. "Drug" is neither here nor there, really. It's just a solution to a problem. I guess if you're an addict and you only really have one problem in life, which is where to get your next fix from or burst from life, that single-minded conviction and willpower would put you in good standings. He's already concerned with life and death.

I'm sure there will come a time when I won't be able to walk around so easy. I don't necessarily want to be famous. It takes away from the craft a little bit, but I think it's part of the job these days, it seems to be.
