Shelby's great-aunt was Audra Lindley of Three's Company (1976) who was married to James Whitmore - Give 'em Hell, Harry! (1975) and The Shawshank Redemption (1994) . Audra and Jim established the Whitmore-Lindley Theatre in the NoHo Arts District. Shelby's great-grandfather Bert Lindley (Audra's father) was a studio actor and stunt man from the early 1900s to late '30s, who later worked as a make-up artist. Great-grandmother Bessie Fisher was also a silent-era actress.
