Martins Freimanis was born on February 7, 1977 in Liepaja, Latvian SSR, USSR. He was an actor and composer, known for Three to Dance (2011), Man patik, ka meitene skumst (2005) and Eirodziesma (2005). He died on January 27, 2011 in Riga, Latvia.
Martins Freimanis gained popularity as the lead singer of the Latvian music group Tumsa. After his death the group decided to continue playing and invited Valters Fridenbergs to join.

He represented Latvia in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2003 as member of the trio F.L.Y. and performed his co-written song "Hello from Mars".
