Katrina Elizabeth Leskanich is an American musician, author and former lead singer of English pop rock band Katrina and The Waves whose song "Walking on Sunshine" was an international hit in 1985 and in 1997 won the Eurovision Song Contest with the song "Love Shine A Light".
With her band Katrina and the Waves, she got the highest score to date in the Eurovision Song Contest, a score of 227 points, with the song "Love shine a light" in 1997. Only by changing the voting system in 2004 and allowing more countries to vote increasing the points to be given, that score could be overcame.
