Werner Roth is a former professional soccer player most associated with the New York Cosmos. He is a member of the National Soccer Hall of Fame.One of the few Americans and chosen captain of the star-studded Cosmos, he helped them to the Soccer Bowl titles in 1972, 1977 and 1978. Roth also played 15 times for the US national team in the 1970s. He is the former Director of Soccer for Special Olympics.
