Adrian Cronauer (born September 8, 1938 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania) is a former United States Air Force sergeant and radio personality whose experiences as an innovative disc jockey in Vietnam inspired the 1987 film Good Morning, Vietnam.
The depiction of him in Good Morning, Vietnam (1987) is a fictionalized portrayal. A number of Robin Williams's monologues in the movie would have gotten Cronauer court-martialed in real life. Also, the movie depicts Cronauer as left-leaning. In reality, he is a registered Republican who supported Bob Dole and George W. Bush for US president.
